This session will highlight and unpack structural and perceptual barriers to study abroad in the Global South. Topics such as over-reliance on standardized frameworks, misapplication of U.S.-centric risk standards, the need for decolonization of risk management practices in the international space, and tools for faculty or student engagement on these concepts will all be addressed.
